A festive and easy-to-make quick bread, bursting with colorful sprinkles and topped with a simple glaze, perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles, plus more for garnish
  • 1 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Prepare a large loaf pan by greasing it with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Set the prepared loaf pan aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the eggs to the butter mixture.
  6. Add the vanilla extract to the butter mixture.
  7. Add the milk to the butter mixture.
  8. Beat the mixture until just incorporated.
  9. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  10. Add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients.
  11. Beat until just mixed together.
  12. Add the sprinkles to the batter.
  13. Fold the sprinkles into the batter with a rubber spatula.
  14. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  15. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  16. Remove the loaf from the oven.
  17. Place the loaf pan onto a wire cooling rack.
  18. Leave the cake in the pan to cool for 10 minutes.
  19. Remove the cake from the pan.
  20. Allow the cake to fully cool before serving or glazing.
  21. Whisk together the confectioner's sugar and milk in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  22. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled loaf.
  23. Top with additional sprinkles to garnish.

Notes

Ensure butter is at room temperature for best creaming results.
Do not overmix the batter once flour is added to keep the loaf tender.
Cool the loaf completely before glazing to prevent the glaze from melting.
Use good quality sprinkles to prevent color bleeding into the batter.
